Questions
Q. What do you do as Comboni Missionaries in U.K.?
A. Our main commitment is to do Mission Awareness in the Parishes, with groups of people and in the Schools (Primary and Secondary ones) and Universities.
Q. Do you have your own parishes here?
A. Only one in Sunningdale (Berks). Instead, in the Dioceses, Deaneries and Parishes entrusted to us by the National Catholic Mission Office we do Mission awareness and Fund-raising in order to help the mission work in the world, that is, the proclamation of the Gospel, human and social promotion (education, health care, development, help in emergency situations, etc.).
Q. You are Italian: how did you end in Scotland?
A. Because we Comboni Missionaries are an international congregation. Our communities are made up of people of various nationalities and so we can be asked to go to any place where we have communities, like here in Scotland, Glasgow/Carmyle.
Q. How do you find Scotland?
A. Fine indeed. I have some complaints with the weather, but it was not too bad these last two years. No difficulty with people and parishes who are very open and sensitive towards Mission and Missionaries. However, to tell the truth, I never thought to come so far north in my life....
