The Comboni retreat was all about making choices in life. The first activity was with Sister Aurora with the slides of the missionaries in Sudan. When I saw the pictures, they made feel like I was spoiled and sorry. I see the charity adverts on telly but the appeal is much more effective when you hear the real life experiences from someone that has been in that situation. The next activity was reading news articles about the conflicts in Africa. We read about the child soldiers and how they are abused, after that Father Donato showed us a video about Bin Laden’s school. The last activity was with Father Tom doing meditation it was my favourite activity because it made me feel relaxed and refreshed. I had a great day. (Jade Cartwright)
